As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world.
I have so many things to be thankful for…
- a family I cherish, adore and love beyond measure
- friends to share the ups and downs and especially the sideways
- a creative mind, a capable body and endless opportunities
- a fulfilling life which encompasses the right/responsibility to vote in tomorrow’s election (just in case you missed my subtlety in the title…VOTE, damn it! Even if you’re not yet registered, you can do it at the polls!)
Now I know that many of you will be thankful for many of the same things I am…great minds think alike and all that, but tell me something you are grateful for that isn’t such a big thing in the grand scheme of life. Something that is simple, but still makes things great…
Mine would be the Thanskgiving turkey card I received this morning from my eldest. Basically it’s a tracing of her hand, the fingers being the feathers of the turkey once you rotate it and on each finger you write what you are thankful for. She wrote…freedom, peace, allowance, life and family. It warmed my heart.
