Phew! Part of my “busy”ness these past few weeks has been the arrival of almost 2000 young athletes and their coaches to Yellowknife for the 2008 Arctic Winter Games. I volunteered most every day out at the ski hill where the cross country, biathlon and snowshoeing events were held. It was a blast meeting people from Russia, Greenland, the Scandinavian countries, as well as other northerners from Canada and Alaska. Beside volunteering, I took in a lot of the different events, some of the more interesting are the Inuit and Dene games which Rick Mercer does a good job of highlighting in this video. Enjoy!
